The Night in Lisbon ~ Erich Maria Remarque

    The Night in Lisbon

It is said, “everything is fair in love and war”. Originally “All is fair in love and war” a proverb, attributed to John Lyly’s Euphues.

It means in situations of love and war people don’t follow the usual rules of reasonable behavior and it has been rightly said. But what if the opponents are ‘LOVE’ and ‘WAR’? The contest is beyond imagination and consequences are fatal as both deal with life and death. This is the mind-blowing plot of this Novel.

The trumpet of WW II has already traumatized every inch of Europe and has already made half of its population refugees. On the other hand, a jitter refugee of war whose life is at risk has crossed several international borders with a fake passport and adopting illegal ways just to see his beloved wife without even knowing whether she is alive or not.

When the war is won by perforating enemies' heart with a bullet and gun in hand. On the other hand, the battle of love is won by filling one’s heart with grace and rose in hand.

Endless oppression of war or an irresistible persistence of love, who will win..??

To know it you have to read The Night in Lisbon by Erich Maria Remarque.

The only hint I can give the Novel will make your eyes teary………
