The Archer ~ Paulo Coelho
The Archer
Brazilian lyricist and novelist Paulo Coelho is best known for his novel The Alchemist. Coelho’s keen understanding of humanity’s yearning for enlightenment emerges again and again in his work. “Enlightenment” does not conform to the Western notion of happiness in the sense of “fun” or even “love” but is a quieter experience related to discovering one’s soul. The best thing about his work is the placing of quality dialogues and conversations and also the magnificent epilogue of every story.
I have read 3 books by Coelho, which are- The Alchemist, The Spy, and The Archer, all of them are rich with life lessons and motivational. I would describe The Archer as a great motivational rather than just a story. Such simplicity in storytelling disguises a more complex message than how best to pull back a bowstring; it fosters an understanding of the higher self and a reverence for life’s many stages.
Here life has been portrayed as an archer, the bow represents the choices you have and the arrows represent the decisions you make in life.
"The bow is life: the source of all energy. The arrow will leave one day. The target is a long way off."
Like the tenets of Taoism, the story demonstrates the fulfillment that comes from relentless practice and mindful intention.
"A good and accurate shot is very different from one made with peace in your soul."
Nice Read .... Very motivational
