লেখক পরিচিতি: - চিত্তরঞ্জন মাইতি আধুনিক কালের অন্যতম জনপ্রিয় লেখক, গল্পকার ও উপন্যাসিক। শিশু সাহিত্যিক হিসেবেও তার পরিচিতি আছে । তার সাহিত্যচর্চা শুরু হয় স্কুল জীবন থেকেই। স্কুল জীবনের লেখা প্রথম গল্প প্রকাশিত হয় “ শিশু সাথী ” পত্রিকায়। কবি হিসেবে ও তিনি সুপরিচিত। তার অন্যতম উপন্যাস গুলির মধ্যে একটি হলো “ পাতার ভেলা ভাসাই ” , এটি আত্মজীবনীমূলক। এছাড়া “ আঁধার পেরিয়ে ”, “ অগ্নিকন্যা ”, “ অনন্যা ”, “ অনুরাগিনী ” , “ আপন ঘর ” ইত্যাদি তার জনপ্রিয় সৃষ্টি । প্রধান চরিত্র সমূহ :- উপন্যাসে বর্ণিত অনেক চরিত্রই আমাদের পরিচিত এবং বিখ্যাত ঐতিহাসিক ব্যক্তিত্ব । তবু যে সমস্ত চরিত্রের কথা না বললে উপন্যাসটি অসম্পূর্ণ থেকে যাবে তাদের কথাই তুলে ধরা হলো । ১ ) কুমারায়ণ: - উপন্যাসের প্রথম পর্বের প্রধান চরিত্র। কুমারায়ণ এক যুবা, আবেগপ্রবণ , তরুণ পুরুষ। দেশ দর্শন তার পেশা । পন্ডিত বংশের সন্তান সে , ধনুর্বিদ্যায় পারদর্শী, পালি ও সংস্কৃত ভাষায় রচিত বৌদ্ধ শাস্ত্র রপ্ত করেছে তক্ষশীলা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে । অসাধারণ বংশীবাদক, সুর-ঞ্জান, কর্তব্য পরায়নতা তার অন্যতম চারিত্রিক বৈশিষ্ট

Eleven Minutes Before saying anything about this book, I would like to recall a few lines from the Book “ অচিন পাখি ” by Shaktipada Rajguru. “ মানুষ পৃথিবীতে যখন আসে তখন তার মনে অনেক আশা , স্বপ্ন । সে কামনা - বাসনা নিয়ে বাঁচে । সে স্বপ্নকে সত্যে পরিণত করতে চায় । সে নিজের ঘর গড়তে চায় । সুখ দুঃখের একটা ঘর । ভালোবাসা পেতে চায় । ভালবেসে ধন্য হতে চায় , সুখী হতে চায় চিরদিনের জন্য । কিন্তু জীবনের পিছনে আসে মানুষের শেষ পরিনতি , মৃত্যু। মৃত্যু যেন মানুষের সব আশা স্বপ্নকে মিথ্যে করে দিতে চায়। মানুষ বাঁচতে চায় পৃথিবীতে । ভালোবেসে পরিতৃপ্ত হতে চায় । মানুষের বাঁচার এই চিরন্তন প্রচেষ্টাই জীবনের লক্ষণ । জীবন মৃত্যুর মাঝে রয়েছে মানুষের ভালোবাসা , চিরন্তন আশান্বিত প্রেম । যা মৃত্যুকে অতিক্রম করতে পারে।। " While reading this book these lines were whirling around in my mind. These lines are greatly correlated with this novel.

The Old Man and The Sea About The Author:- American novelist, and short story writer Ernest Hemingway was also a journalist. He was raised in a household of six and was born on July 21, 1899, in Oak Park, Illinois. After finishing high school, Hemingway worked as a journalist for The Kansas City Star because of his restless nature. He worked as an ambulance driver for the Red Cross in Italy during World War I. His work was significantly influenced by this event and his later newspaper reporting on the conflict. "The Sun Also Rises" (1926) was his first significant novel. The majority of Hemingway's writing was created between the mid-1920s and the mid-1950s. He wrote "The Old Man and the Sea" in 1952, about a valiant, lonesome figure, and earned the Nobel Prize of 1954 for literature.
